Traffic in Phnom Penh
In Phnom Penh most of the time the traffic is chaotic and motorcyclists seemingly suicidal. Traffic accidents are not uncommon. Don't be surprised if the entire families packed onto a single motorbike with a large variety of goods. This is "normal" in Cambodia. Death toll due to traffic accidents in Cambodia is on the rise, so be careful and use helmet if you ride motorbike. For the last 30 years, Sambo the elephant has been entertaining tourists at Wat Phnom but after she retired, finally relocated to Mondulkiri Elephant Sanctuary. For many years she was a permanent feature in the capital, giving rides to tourists.
