Street photography

I just simple love wandering around with my camera without a specific destination and shoot. Yes, sometimes I'm carrying my camera without taking even a simple shot. I am not a kind of machine gun shooter and don't take a picture of everything. Using public transport and walking off my toes for a good shot means something like street photography for me. 

Children of Mekong River

One of my favorite photo I took a few years ago in Phnom Penh about Khmer street children when they were playing in the Mekong River. I used film camera with black and white film.

JR in Cambodia

French visual artist "guerrilla artist" JR who exhibits freely in the streets of of the world visited Cambodia in 2009. as the part of the project "Inside Out". I took this photo in Phnom Penh just a view days later where hi displayed the portraits of evicted people. The government was quite fast to react and removed it within a week. In 2010 JR has been awarded TED Prize.

Two years earlier of this project, he traveled to Israel and did the same with the portraits of Israeli and Palestinian people on both sides of separation wall.

Fellow Sufferers (Khmer Landmine Victims)

Cambodia is one of the most landmine affected countries, and with over 25000 amputees it has the highest ratio per capita in the world. The Handicap International Cambodia operates a rehabilitation center in Siem Reap for mine victims where also provides physical treatment for children whose born with congenital disorders. Besides physical and mental treatment, the center fix and makes new prosthetic limbs for mine victims whose arriving the center from all around of the country.

The people who were participating with my photography project, all were mine victims and came to the center to get a new prosthetic limb. Must of them stayed approx for a week. They never met with each other before.

All the services at the Handicap International are free. Those are living far, the center pay the transportation.

High School Student Khmer Lady boys

Buddhist countries like Laos or Cambodia is not known for there lady-boys. Many trafficking stories continue in different brothels at different places. What is the future of the High School Student Khmer Lady boys? Are the young Khmer lady-boys will be or already targeted by "illegal" brothel owners and pips? These photos I took as a part of an unfinished project last year.
